Resources

College Counseling Service has found the following resources helpful in navigating the college process.  Post graduate planning centers and career centers in high schools have many of these books.  Some bookstores will carry a few of these books or you may want to order them through www.amazon.com. You are always welcome to visit and relax in our College Counseling Service library as you browse through these resources.

 GUIDEBOOKS

College guidebooks fall mainly into two categories:  objective and subjective guides.  The objective or comparative guides obtain their information directly from the admissions offices of the colleges and universities.  They provide statistics and quick reference information on each institution.  The subjective guides provide a narrative and rate various aspects of the institution.  Rankings always use a formula of criteria the people involved have created in order to judge the colleges.
